The Mémorial des Camps de la Mort located in Marseille is a museum and a memorial to the Holocaust. It is built to commemorate the Nazi occupation of Paris during World War II. From 1942 to 1944, the Jews of Marseille were rode out in trucks to the concentration camps outside the Memorial des Camps de la Mort is a tribute to that grim part of the nation’s history. Photographs and various information panels are displayed for visitors to read about concentration camp accounts, details about the subsequent bombing and the capture of the city, and the stirring resistance movement
