A. Henderson has been sending a week in New York in company with his son, James, who attends the Massachu- setts Institute of Technology, in Boston. Chocolates and flowers are combined in the shop at the southwest corner of Wilson avenue and Broadway. The proprietors are Louis Choromokos and George Stavropoulos, so they call the place La Bonte. They have business enough to require three telephones. Last week Paul E. Klingsporn cele- brated the seventL anniversary of his arrival in Chicago, The E. C. Amling Co. reports shipping orders November 27 to customers in New York and in the state of Washing- ton, which W. A. Hansen says can be called national distribution of cut flowers. Mangel expects to open his new store in the Drake hotel about December 15. The hotel started to do business Thanksgiving day. The space to be occupied by the flower store was not quite ready, but the equipment is now being installed. C. H. Bookedis, for- merly in business as the Claypool Hotel Florist at Indianapolis, has been en- gaged as manager of the new store. William Palmer, who has just opened for business in the Avenue State Bank building in Oak Park, has a neatly equipped store. The fixtures were sup- plied by the Union Eefrigerator Co., with which Frank J. Eieux now is asso- ciated. The W. W. Barnard Co. has received its first carload of Christmas trees for the approaching holiday. Thanksgiving eve the Briggs Floral Co.
