A legacy from Spanish Colonial rule the Peruvian Caballo de Paso or Pacer horse is a firm favourite in the Country particularly in and around the northern City of Trujillo. This fine breed has gained admiration from all over the equine world for it's unique pacing gait. The Peruvian Paso in its present form has been refined and developed over four centuries and been acclaimed as a triumph of selective horses and riders (Chalanes) are always a great attraction at the many shows and events in Peru,two of the biggest being the annual spring festival in Trujillo the last week in September and the National show in Lima.
