70th Anniversary of the Fall of Singapore remembered by Eric Lomax his story is told in the film 'The Railway Man'


The 70th Anniversary of the Fall of Singapore commerated in the small town of Berwick upon Tweed in the North East of England attended by two ex Prisoners of War who were prisoners of the Japanese for over three and a half years, they were Henry McCreath a Captain at the time with Z Company of the 9th Battalion Royal Northumberland Fusiliers and Eric Lomax who was a Lieutenant in the Royal Signals. Eric is to be played by Colin Firth in the film adapted from his book. Eric is seated in his wheelchair (with green hat) next to Henry McCreath
