Figures silhouetted as they walk under the arches of the historic Pont Neuf by the Seine in Paris in winter.

The Pont Neuf is the oldest existing bridge spanning the Seine. It opened in 1607 and connects the right and left banks together with the western point of the Ile de la Cite. Locals and tourists enjoy walking under its arches as they promenade the Seine however it is more atmospheric in winter. The picture also shows architectural detail of the corbels supporting the balustrade resting on carved grotesque heads.
