Inside1950's Era Silver Meteor Passenger Car #2 At The North Carolina Transportation Museum Spencer, NC
Inside 1950's Era Silver Meteor Passenger Car #2 shows the comfort and style of travel (from a different end of passenger car #1) for those who could afford it. The Silver Meteor was the first diesel powered train between New York and Miami, Florida. It began in 1939 and was introduced by the Seaboard Air Line Railroad. Today Amtrak still runs the train between New York and Florida as "The Silver Service" along with "The Silver Star" another former Seaboard Air Line train.
