Culture—Early Cabbagre Seed should be sown in hot-beds during' February and March. When larse enough the plants should be transplanted into cold frames, and as early as the ground Is in fit condition they should be planted in the garden, in rows about two feet apart and about 18 inches in the row. The late,varieties should be sown about the first of May. and set out in the garden in June and July. .As these grow larger than the early va- rieties, they should be planted in rows about three feet apart and about two feet in the row. During the growing season, even in hot-beds various leaf-eating in- sects are likely to attack the plants, de- stroying many if uninterfered with.
