This is Amble first school at the bottom of Edwin Street. It was a former mining and fishing town, with most of the signs of the mining having disappeared though there is still a small fishing fleet that works out of the harbour. The town of Amble has been undergoing a renaissance in recent years and is now considered a trendy and fashionable place to live, being recently named by the Sunday Times Newspaper as one of the places to live in 2019.
