Future human. Artwork by artist Nemo Ramjet depicting a period in the distant future when humans have colonised new planets and evolved into different life forms. The life form in this image is composed of genetically identical individuals, that co-exist as a super colony and act as one whole organism. Each individual has developed specialised structures and functions such as limbs, eyes or feeding parts that enable the whole colony to survive. This idea is based on the lifecycle of animal species from the Hydrazoa class such as the Portuguese Man o' War (Physalia physalis).
