To celebrate the traditional birth date of St. George (April 23) people in Catalonia exchange gifts. Men traditionally give women roses, women give men a book. During the festival Barcelona's famous street, La Rambla, is filled with vendors selling roses and books. According to Wikipedia, four million roses and 800,000 books are sold during the festival.
