Colombian men pour hot and liquid panela into a wooden form in a farm close to San Agustin, Colombia.

Colombian men pour hot and liquid panela, obtained from the boiling of sugarcane juice, into a wooden form during the panela production process in a farm close to San Agustin, Colombia, 18 April 2004. Panela is considered as bio natural food because it is unrefined and it contains large amounts of proteins, calcium, iron and ascorbic acid. The main producer of panela is Colombia but it is produced virtually anywhere in tropics of Latin America where sugarcane is grown.
