Nogales, Arizona - Representatives of nonprofit organizations from southern Arizona and Sonora, Mexico pick up food for their organizations at the Borderlands Food Bank. Each year, Borderlands saves 30 to 40 million pounds of produce, mostly grown in Mexico, that would otherwise be sent to landfills. The produce is usable but may have blemishes, or a grower may have more than can be sold.
