RED SEA (Dec. 1, 2016) Seaman Cesar Velasquez, from Plainfield, Ill., inspects the components of a jet turbine engine in the jet shop of the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) (Ike). Velasquez serves aboard Ike as an aviation machinist's mate. Ike and its carrier strike group are deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, maritime security operations and theater security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the 5th Fleet area of operations.
