Looking NW at Carreg Fawr farmhouse, yard & outbuildings: one of the 'model farms' built on Bardsey Island 1870-75 by Lord Newborough. Two of the outbuildings are used as a hermitage/retreat (L) & oratory (R). Artist & writer Brenda Chamberlain lived on Bardsey 1947-61, mainly in Carreg farmhouse; she described her experiences in the book Tide-race published in 1962.
