Job's Despair from William Blake's "Illustrations Of The Book Of Job". The "Illustrations" are a set of nineteen watercolor paintings commissioned in 1805 by Blake's chief patron, Thomas Butts. William Blake (1757-1827) was an English poet, painter, and printmaker. He is considered a seminal figure in the history of poetry and visual arts of the Romantic Age.
