Lemoine's Double-Flowered Lilac—Panicles large; flowers reddish purple, semi-double; fine. S. 'V. Var. Nana. Dwarf Lilac.—Distinct, large and compact spike of dark reddish purple, fragrant flowers. NEW VARIETIES OF LILACS. S. Villosa.—A new species from Japan. Large, branching panicles ; flowers light purple in bud, white when open; fragrant; foliage resembles that of the White Fringe. Especially valuable as its flowers appear two weeks after those of other Lilacs. S. Var. Frau Dammann.—This is the best white Lilac in our collection. The panicle or truss is immense; flowers of medium size and pure white. This and Ludwig Spaeth are the two best Lilacs of recent introduction. S. Var. Ludwig Spaeth.—Panicle long; individual flowers large, single, dark purplish red; distinct; superb. The finest of its color. S. Var. President Grevy.—A beautiful blue; individual flowers very double and very large, measuring thee-quarters of an inch in diameter; the panicle is magnificent and measures eleven inches in length and five inches across. One of the finest Lilacs. TAMARIX. Tamarisk. These are very beautiful shrubs with small leaves, somewhat like those of the Juniper, and delicate, small flowers in spikes.
