10/10/2014 Ribblehead Direct rail services class 66 locomotives 66426 + 66434 working the 1646 Carlisle Kingmoor - Carlisle Kingmoor via Settle - Blackburn - Preston - Barrow - Carnforth - Windermere - Carlisle - Preston - Blackburn - Hellifield - Skipton - Carlisle - Carlisle Kingmoor. This train is out for 20 hours each day in the autumn (apart from Saturday night) washing leaf mulch from the rail head on lines in Cumbria, Lancashire & Yorkshire ensuring that trains can grip the rails during the leaf fall season.
