A Soldier pushes through the finish line of a 12-mile ruck march in less than three hours on his way to earning the Expert Field Medical Badge at Joint Base Lewis McChord, Wash., June 18-23. Approximately 200 candidates started, but only 37 received the badge. The competitors were challenged with communications skills, warrior tasks, medical evacuation and reacting to direct fire while moving through the lanes.
