BLOOMDALE SPINACH (Registered.)—Earliest cutting of any sort. This is a form of spinach superior to other sorts be- cause of its leaves being curled, tAvisted and bloated to an unusual degree, this curled quality giving the leaves an elasticicy especially fitting them for shipment to long distances, while at the same time giving the crop large measuring qualities, many more barrels of the Bloomdale spinach being cut to the acre than any other variety, and thus adding an increase profit to the shipper. One great feature about this spinach is that it increases in quantity after being cut, while other varieties settle and pack down in the basket; this will puff up and run over. Choice strain. PRICKLEY WINTER.—A very hardy variety, and will withstand the heaviest weather, with only a slight protection of leaves or straw^ The seed is prickly, leaves triangular, oblong, or arrow shaped.
