India, Delhi. The memories of the Raj have been dying fast in India. Shortly after Independence, on the 1912 Durbar site the remnants of the Raj expressed in statues began to be gathered up and placed in in a compound. Principal among them were some fine statues eminent British names including George V and this fine statue of Queen Victoria. A sign for 'Coronation Park' had collapsed on its side. In 1912 the gloriously varied crowd that had assembled there, (at a time before the wisdom of Independence), had sworn their allegiance to the Queen,
