Khoikhoivrouw met woman dressed in a labic. For her both seemed to seem to be tires wrapped to protect her against the sharp scrub. To her wrist she wears a necklace with red beads. On her back she wears an infant that drinks from her chest she has beaten over her shoulder, a well-known Western cliché. In her left hand, she holds a dripping piece of intestine. That referred to the habit of the Khoikhoi to eat raw guts. This drawing has been copied to a print in Thomas Herbert, "Some Years Travels Into Africa An Asia The Great" (1634).
