Black vine weevil. Coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of a black vine weevil (Otiorhynchus sulcatus) on a leaf. The weevil's head is at upper centre. One of the compound eyes (black) and both antennae can be seen. The six legs are attached to the thorax, and behind that is the abdomen. Weevils are small beetles that infest a wide range of plants and crops. Magnification: x10 when printed 10 centimetres wide.
