Thus it will be seen that during all these years, from 1773, when first came, up to the present day, one hundred and twenty-one years, the congregation has been but one year without a pastor. The following is a list of the present members of the council ofOrgan church: Elders—Laurence Kluttz, Alexander Powlass, Milas A. Holshouser,Eli Holshouser. Deacons—Luther C. Miller, A. L. Lyerly, Charles E. Bost, OrlinCruse. At the east end of the church and just a short distance from it is theold graveyard; the Todtenacker of our fathers. It covers an area of. the: present parsonage. 8 History of Organ Church. about two and oue half acres, and is now nearly full. It is surroundedby a stone wall, about five feet high, built of immense stones, some ofthem ten feet long and three feet wide. It is a standing wonder howthey ever brought them here, and put them in their places. But herethey are and have been for over a hundred years, and probably will befor hundreds of years to Withio these walls lie buried the generations that have come and goneduring nearly a century and a half. Many of the graves are unmarkedand unknown, and no one knows how many are buried here. Here, withinthese sacred precincts, just to the right of the gate as you enter fromthe church, lie the remains of Rev. C. A. G. Storch, and Rev. HenryGraeber, the third and sixth pastors, of the congregation. Here, also, areburied Rev. Joseph A. Linn and Rev. Daniel I. Dreher and hosts of Otherswho have been known and loved and honored in the church h
