The tallc by ?W. N. Craig on the duties of the pri- vate gardener was exceptionally fine and he covered the ground so thor- oughly that there was no room for comment. The officers for next year were nominated and were as follows : H. Bartsch, president; J. Methven, vice-president; W. N. Craig, secretary; Peter Fisher, treasurer; executive com- mittee, J. Kennedy, G. M. Anderson, F. J. Rea, P. M. Miller, W. K. Rogers. W. J. Patterson, W. J. Collins, Peter Barker and Geo. Wyness. There were many exhibits which were very good, a vase of Peter Fisher's new Carnation Alice being especially good. It was voted to have ladies night in January. Thomas F. Galvin, while running after a car at Brookline, fell and re- ceived a bad scalp wound. He also re- ceived a severe shaking up. At a meeting called Saturday, No- vember 21, by the executive committee of the Massachusetts Horticultural So- ciety, it was arranged to make a few changes in the schedule for the spring show. It is planned to have the Amer- ican Rose Society co-operate with the Massachusetts Horticultural Society at the spring show. The admission was reduced to 25c on Sunday, the last day, to insure a larger attendance. The chrysanthemum shows hereafter will go under the title of the autumn
