Common summer resident on sloughs throughout the area. *Eared Grebe. Podiceps caspicus. Fairly common but local summer resident, nesting in colonies on the larger sloughs. Western Grebe. Aechmophorus occidentalis. Com- mon migrant at Little Fish Lake. About 300 were observed on May 6, 1970, and a few spent the sum- mer there, although no nests were found.
