Maria Surovshchikova-Petipa, Russian ballet dancer, c1861. Maria Surovshchikova-Petipa (1836-1882) was prima ballerina of the St Petersburg Imperial Theatre. She was the wife of the French choreographer Marius Petipa. Found in the collection of the Russian State Film and Photo Archive, Krasnogorsk.
