His politicalsympathies were with the Democratic party. He wasnot a member of any Church, but gave liberally to allreligious and benevolent enterprises. Mr. Very was three times married. In 1828he married Lavinia Richardson, who was born in1807, at Rehoboth, Mass., a daughter of FrancisRichardson, and children as follows blessed theirunion: Eleanor, born in 1829, lives on the homesteadwith her sister. Mrs. Avery. Leonora, born in 1832,married Thomas J. Carr, and died in 1865, leavingfour children.
