Article from the Richmond Times-Dispatch, 11 July 1915, about a woman known as Mrs. X who baked a dish of spaghetti for a church dinner in Hanford, California. She was an asymptomatic carrier of typhoid fever and the dish infected 93 people, three of whom died. A photo of "Typhoid Mary" or Mary Mallon, the first known asymtomatic carrier of typhus in the US appears below the illustration of Mrs. X.
