This blue is one of the rarest Californian species, being confined to the Tehachapi and Tejon regions. It is exceedingly local in spite of the fact that the genus of food-plants on which it is dependent is widely distributed and abundant through- out the state. It was my good fortune to find a colony of this butterfly near Lebec, in the Tejon Mountains, during the first week in July of this year. The females were observed ovipositing on Eriogonum fascicula- turn and E. microthecum. The first named seemed to be the preferred 67.
