The stainsleft on these counters, apparently by wetdiinking-giasses, have led to the identification,or supposed identification, of several suchshops. A curious vessel for making thesewarm drinks has been discovered. It some-what resembles a modern urn, as wUl beseen from the accompanying cut of it, butis much more complicated. The annexedfigm*e shows a section of the urn with its conical cover; a a is the bodyof the urn, b a small cylindrical furnace in the centre. It has four holes. URN FOR WARM DECOCTIONS DRANK IN THETIIERMOPOLIA.
