The Malieveld, The Hague, The Netherlands. Sunday 14th March, 2021. (Covid-19). The Dutch Mobile Unit (ME) takes action against protesters by using a water-canon to disperse the crowd. The protesters ended their weeks of protests by a final defiant gathering in The Hague, under the name: ‘Coffee Drinkers Hour’ the coffee cups were as nonexistent as the facemask and no social distancing. A similar event takes place on the Museumplein in Amsterdam, and similarly ending in the same manner. The demonstration was against the government’s coronavirus measures. Police later carried out twenty arrests on and around the Malieveld, this happened after the mayor of The Hague decided to end the demonstration due to the protesters not complying to corona measures. Canine units were also deployed and two protesters were injured as a result. One dog handler and the ME in one incident were cornered when they made an arrest; the protesters kicked the police dog and attacked his handler with a fighting dog.
