Mills College, Alameda Co., Cal., and Camp Baldy, San Bernarclino Co., Cal., bred from larvcc on "Cas- cara" {Rhamnns purshiana DC), an ev^ergreen, and also on a similar deciduous species of Rhamnns. The larva feeds within a large inflated gall-like chamber formed from the two halves of the leaf, which are closely appressed above, just below the margins of the leaf, and near each end.
