On account of their extreme hardiness, and long lasting qualities, they are specially adapted for the permanent hardy flower border. They may also be naturalized in grass, wild gardens, etc. For bedding they are superb, while as cut flowers, having long stems with flowers of great substance, they stand in mgmm^ Bs'* >' perfect condition for a long time. In planting, W^ff''^^ !• f >vM the bulbs should be set a little deeper than early tulips, a covering of 4 inches being about right. Gesneriana Lutea. This fine golden-yellow variety considered one of the best (24 inches). 80 cts. per doz.; $ per 100; per 1000. Gesneriana Spathulata Major. A superb Tulip of strong yet graceful growth, and bearing very large flowers of an intense brilliant crimson scarlet. No words or picture can begin to do this Tulip justice. Very large flowers of a fiery orange-scarlet, one of the most effective Tulips in any class (20 inches). $ per doz.; $ per 100; $ per 1000. Inglescombe Pink. A rare blending of buff and salmon.
