Sir Michael Andrew Angus Costa ( 1808 – 1884). A caricature portrait of the Italian born Michael Costa, conductor of the orchestra at Her majesty's Theatre, London, UK in 1842 . He birth name was Michele Andrea Agniello Costa and he was born in Naples. Costa was a keen Royal Arch Freemason and was Costa was appointed Grand Organist of the United Grand Lodge of England in 1851. He was considered by some to be the most popular 'chef d'orchestre' in England.
