Divestment Day of Action, 16 Nov. 2021. Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). About 50 students and faculty gathered on the steps of the MIT Walker Memorial Building and marched through the MIT campus in Cambridge, MA, to the Student Center to protest MIT’s endowment investing in fossil fuel companies. MIT Divest is a group of concerned student advocating for the Institute to use its position to the betterment of humankind and includes removing investment from the fossil fuel industry. MIT is a private university in Boston, founded in 1861 with over 12,000 students enrolled. As of 2021 the MIT endowment stood at billion USD.
