The Carver Memorial Church (United Reformed) in Lake Road was designed by Robert Walker of Kendal in 1879-80. William Carver of The Priory (Windermere) died in 1875 leaving no will. Sons and daughter built the chapel as a memorial, whereupon the will was discovered.
