F. C. Browar, Secv. POKTAGE-LA-PRAIRIE CLUB. Tiiis Club, which was organized fifteen yearsago, is now in active life and shoots are heldtwice a week at their excellent grounds latIsland Park. Mr. S. M. McDonald presides overa membership of thirty, having the efficientassistance of Mr. H. Stevens as vice-President,and the active services of Mr. .J. G. P. McKay(an old Woodstock boy) as Secretary. At theirannual tournament, which was held in June last,. J. G. P. Mackay (an old Woodstock, boy). Secretaryof the Portage-la-Prairie Gun Club. the Championship of Western Manitoba w^as wonby Mr. N. Miller, of Virden, with Mr. P. J. Har-wood, of Portage-la-Prairie, a close second. Onthe first round each shot 46 out of 50, but inthe shoot off Miller made 22 and Harwood 20out of 25. At the same shoot the Milo CigarCup was won by a Winnipeg team. The members of the club get some excellentduck shooting at Lake Manitoba, sixteen milesnorth of Prairie, and also plenty of shooting atprairie chicken in the season.
