The Minton Tile Ceiling at the recently restored Bethesda Terrace Arcade in Central Park, NY

The Minton Tile ceiling at Central Park's Bethesday Terrace was designed by Jacob Wrey Mould. Encaustic tiles such as these were originally created to cover the floors of European cathedrals. Bethesda Arcade is the only place in the world where Minton ceramic tiles are used for a ceiling.
