Heroic action on the part of John Tomlinson,watchman at the Detroit Street crossing atXenia, Ohio, was all that saved the life of littleDelbert Mendenhall. three year old son ofMason Mendenhall. The child was with hisolder brother and sister, w^ho were hurryingto cross ahead of the fast approaching passengertrain, when he fell on the crossing. The olderchildren left the child and hurried out of the way of the train. Watchman Tomlinson ranto the spot and snatched him from the trackswhen the train was less than twenty yardsaway. Agent R. D.
