New Ideal Cabbage This variety is a lew days earlier tluiu Livings- ton's Pkkmium Flat Ditch, and is certainly one of the most magnificent strains of Late Flat Dutch known to-dav. By persistent selection, year after year, it has lieeii brought to a state of perfection rarely, if ever, attained elsewhere. The large, solid heads, the low short stems, the absence of useless foliage, the uniformity of size and shape, the relia- bility for heading, and the long continued selection mentionecl above, all combine to make this the IDEAL Cabbage for profit. Our seed of this Cab- l)age was grown from large, solid, fully matured heads, which were pulled in the fall, i)itted over winter, and set out in the sjjring. This mi-thod is very expensive, and seed jjroduced in this (the only true) way cannot be sold at a small i)rice. The remarkable success of this Cabbage during another j'ear, and that a very trying one, has con- vinced us of its very great value. One trial iS all we ask. You can confidently to get from 80 to KJO more heads to the 1,000 plants, and miich mort' uniform in size and shai)e, than from any other strain with which we are acquainted. It is heading up very solid. It is the best that I ever saw for such dry weather. It grows so close to the ; We have had no rain since the 1st of June and it is .still doing ; W. A. Montgomery, Bolton, Miss., writes: " I prefer the Ideal Winter t'abbage to all others I have yet used, for several reasons. They make a good uniform head, with but few sur- plus leaves. All
