Every one who has seen our crops has been enthusiastic in ])raiseof the beautiful plants, crowded with the large, handsome fruits, of a bright, ruby-red color. The peppers ordinarily grow to 6 inches long by .3J<^ to 4% inches through. Added to their beautiful color, when ripe, is the great desideratum that they are remarhahly mild and jileasnnt lo the taste; in this respect uncqualed by any other Red Pep- per, and equaled only by Bni'pee^s Golden Upright, our grand new yellow pepper. We cannot too strongly recommend the Ruby King— so mild and pleasant is their flavor that they can even be sliced and eaten with pejiper and vinegar (like tomatoes or cucumbers), and make a very pleas- ant and appetizing salad; while for stuffing, or for pepper hash, no other variety can equal them. This new pepper, from Cliina, is so heautitul ill growth that it deserves a prominent ])lace in The Flower Garden. The plant sets its peppers very early and continues until frost, branching freely and bearing most profusely.
