Twoother spots were alternated, Miragoane in thewest and the salt lakes beyond salt lakes are two decidedly brackishbodies of water which lie on the border of Haitiand Santo Domingo. They are at the endof the Plain of the Cul-de-Sac, and a few milesbeyond the town of Thomaseau. The wateris as clear as a crystal and the scenery amidthese wonderful lakes and the mountains abovethem is splendid. In the opposite direction, and 70 miles westof Port-au-Prince, is Lake Miragoane.
