Edward S. Ayensu, Ghanian scientist and economist
Edward S. Ayensu (born 1935), Ghanaian scientist and economist, seated at a desk, looking through a microscope in his office at the National Museum of Natural History (NMNH) at the Smithsonian Institute. Ayensu was Chairman of the Department of Botany at the time. During his twenty years at the Smithsonian Institution, he was a director and senior scientist. Ayensu currently serves as an international development advisor; he is on the board of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) Ghana and is the President of the Energy Globe Foundation.
