JAMES F. CASPERSON LENGTH OF SERVICE, 53 YEARS 8 MONTHS James F. Casperson—Colonel Casperson,as everybody addresses him—reached the age ofseventy years on September 16th, and his namewas placed on the Companys Roll of Honoron October 1,1916. He was born in SalemCounty,New Jersey, and on February 1,1863, he enteredthe service of the old Philadelphia, Wilmingtonand Baltimore Railroad as Clerk. Colonel Caspersonwas promoted to the positionof Freight Agent at Wilmington on August 1, 1875, where he remained until March 31, 1912,when he was transferred to the Agency of theWilmington Freight Transfer. On July 1, 1916,he was assigned to special duties in connectionwith the commercial development of Wilming-ton, which was always the uppermost thought inhis business life. Mr. Casperson received the title of Colonel in 1876, when he was appointed Aide on the staflFof Governor John P. Cochran, of Delaware. General Manager S. C. Long, in a personal.
