The writer has always charged batteries, when nec-essary (and regardless of what the expert batterypeople say), on a 500-voJt circuit without injury tothe batteries. If we have a large battery to charge weput it in circuit on the negative side with the motor thatruns the shop machinery. This motor is of 10 hp. anduses about 8 amp. on its average load.
