= The Cathedral of St. Sergius of Radonezh in Mytishchi = The strong and majestic Orthodox Cathedral in the style of white stone Russian churches of 12th century (great examples are St. Demetrius Cathedral or Church of the Intercession on the River Nerl in Vladimir region) was built in on the grounds of Federal Memorial Military Cemetery in Mytishchi in 2013-2014 in the name of St. Sergius of Radonezh, the patron of the local land (located on the way to Sergiev Posad and Radonezh village). On November 5, 2014 the great consecration of the Cathedral built in honor of 700-anniversary from the birth of Venerable St. Sergius (1314-2014) was made by Yuvenaliy, the Metropolitan Krutitsky and Kolomensky. In this church, soldiers and officers pray for and see off their commanders and leaders. Near the church stands along a small old style belfry (in Russian “zvonnitsa”) with nine bells (the biggest “Blagovest”, good news bell, has about 1 ton in weight) that were casted in Kamensk-Uralsky, the bell capital of Russia. Masterpieces of the Kamensky iron foundry that was founded in 1701 rings all arounf the World: on bell towers and belfries of St. Basil’s Cathedral, Moscow Donskoy Monastery, Marble Palace in St. Petersburg, mount Athos in Greece, Orthodox parishes in USA and Canada.
