The blank istaken from the first die when the movinghead recedes, and placed in second die intime to be operated on upon the returnstroke. The capacity of machine for thiswork is only limited by the number ofstrokes per minute. A truck equalizer is justly regarded as. a hard form to produce at the anvil. Ofthe two well-known shapes, we have takenthe one that represents the most work tomake, although it is not in general use atthe present time. Fig. lo shows the diefor this equalizer, the movable die onlybeing sketched, on account of the sizeof the whole combination. This 4% x iinch material is brought to form on thebulldozer with no more fuss than wouldbe made over lighter stuff. All hangers for auxiliary reservoirs are made in dies shown in Fig. II. The ad-vantage of this method over the handprocess for hangers, lies in the uniformityof the work; each one being a duplicateof its mate where made by the same dies.
