Farmhouse Hunneheid Annotation: Het Zeijerveld is an area of 620 hectares located on the north-west side of Assen in the province of Drenthe (Netherlands). It was bought as ferocious land in 1907 from the Zeijer farmers by Jacob Theodoor Cremer, president of the Nederlandsche Handel-Maatschappij and former Minister of Colonies. Cremer had the area mined by the Nederlandsche Heidemaatschappij in the years before the First World War. From the Drentsche Hoofdvaart, the Asserwijk was dug for drainage and transport. Along and near the Asserwijk, Cremer had 15 farms built, with a size of 20-45 hecta

Along and near the Asserwijk, Cremer had 15 farms built, with a size of 20-45 hectares, and a number of workers' homes. The area is easily recognizable from the air between Assen and the villages of Peest and Zeijen due to the typical rectilinear subdivision.
