SOMALIA, Mogadishu: In a photograph taken and released by the African Union-United Nations Information Support Team 25 October 2013, Head of the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) and Special Representative of the Chairperson of the African Union Commission for Somalia, Ambassador Mahamat Saleh Annadif (centre) walks with members of the African Union's Peace and Security Council (PSC) at AMISOM Headquarters during the Council's first visit to the Somali capital Mogadishu. The PSC is the AU’s 15-member standing decision-making body responsible for the maintenance of continental peace and security. During the visit, the Council met with Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud where it called for an extra 6,300 troops and police forAMISOM as well as enhanced engineering capabilities and much needed equipment including military utility helicopters and armored personnel carriers.
