Cape fox (Vulpes chama) with prey. The cape fox is a small fox, measuring up to 60 centimetres, that inhabits the grasslands and savannahs of southern Africa. It is mostly nocturnal and lives alone or in pairs in dens. It feeds on small rodents, rabbits, reptiles, insects and a little plant matter.
